for Strategic Projects in the Union that were subject to the permit-granting process before being recognised as Strategic Projects and for extensions of existing Strategic Projects that have already been granted a permit, the duration of the permit-granting process after the project is recognised as a Strategic Project shall not exceed: (a) 24 months for Strategic Projects involving extraction; (b) 12 months for Strategic Projects involving only processing or recycling.
